Use the Codex: voices, connections and stats

Narration: Stu McCardle

Open Codex to keep characters, places and story facts together. Select a character to open their details. The main Voice box describes how they narrate in chapters told from their point of view. In Character sheet, Voice holds example lines of dialogue, one per line. Those dialogue samples take priority over conflicting descriptions in your brief. Open Relationships, add a relation and choose the linked entry. The visibility menu decides whether AI reads an entry always, when mentioned, or never. To build from existing prose, choose Scan chapters, select the chapters and run the scan. Review the suggestions. Accept what fits, reject errors and resolve conflicts before they become facts. For LitRPG, switch on This book tracks stats in the Codex tools. Open a character's Stats and start a sheet. Set a value at the chapter where it changes, then use Progress to see how it develops. The Codex keeps the book's details visible and gives AI the context you choose to share.

Before you start
Use Codex as the book’s reference. Scanning adds suggestions from existing prose for your review.

The Stats section switches to a separate LitRPG teaching book. It records Level 1 at Start and Level 3 at chapter 3. Accepted scan suggestions become Codex facts.
